Puerto Pollensa – Sierra de Tramontana<\/div><\/div>

1 La Gola – Formentor<\/h2><\/div>
<\/div><\/div>

We meet at La Gola Beach on the far end of the Bay of Pollensa and kayak to Formentor, leaving the mighty Serra de Tramuntana Mountains behind. We will follow the coastline and explore emblematic landmarks like the Lighthouse of Punta Avanzada, the limestone quarry used to build La Fortaleza and the Estar d\u2019en Ros. From here we will head seawards to the Cave d\u2019en Borges and its startling turquoise waters. The route ends at Formentor Beach, where we will have a short rest and get our energy back before kayaking back.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Puerto de Alc\u00fadia – Sierra de Tramontana<\/div><\/div>

2 Alcanada – Coll Baix<\/h2><\/div>

We meet at Alcanada, a popular and family-friendly beach on the southern side of the Bay of Pollensa. The coastline here is mostly rocky at first, with clear transparent waters and a wide beach. At the end of the beach we come to “Punta des Far” where you will see the isle of Alcanada, some 150m from the coast, with its charming lighthouse built in 1860. From here onwards the coast, known as Platja des Secs, is virgin and wild with steep cliffs and pine forests.
\nThe beach ends in a headland called “Es Farall\u00f3”, where the landscape changes abruptly, becoming more extreme and the cliff edges more pronounced, with heights ascending to 100-250 m, and small torrents etching into the rock.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The coastline is this part of the island is dotted with a large number of caves; \u201cSa Cova Tancada\u201d etc, so isolated and difficult to reach that in the past they were used for contraband and are now only really accessible by sea. At the end of this route we come to the unspoilt headland of “Cap de Menorca”, from where you can see the vast Bay of Alcudia. To the southeast we come to the most memorable and virgin landmark in this corner of the island; the spectacular \u201cPlatja de Coll Baix\u201d beach, a natural amphitheatre carved into the rock by the Torrent that crosses it.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Corral Ben\u00e0ssar – Sierra de Tramontana<\/div><\/div>

3 Corral d’en Benn\u00e0sser – Cap Pinar<\/h2><\/div>

We meet at the \u201cCorral d\u2019en Benn\u00e0sser\u201d and explore the coastline that runs from the Nature Reserve of La Victoria up to \u201cCap Pinar\u201d. Starting at \u201cPunta des Sebel.li\u201d, we first head towards the marina of \u201cPort de Barcar\u00e9s\u201d, kayaking past \u201cLlosa de Barcares\u201d, a good spot to catch some waves on days of easterly winds, and continue paddling to \u201cPunta Manresa\u201d, a slightly triangular shaped promontory with two small sandy beaches. From here we go on to \u201cPunta de Tac\u00e0ritx o Sa Guarda\u201d leaving the Port behind and the last of the built up areas.
\nFrom this point onwards the coast is wild and unspoilt; \u201cRac\u00f3 de ses Barreres\u201d,\u201cSa Ferradura\u201d, la \u201cCaleta des Capellanes\u201d, S\u2019Illot\u201d, are all areas of magical natural beauty and exquisite turquoise waters, full of small coves and tiny islets.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Sa Dragonera – Sierra de Tramontana<\/div><\/div>

4 Sa Dragonera<\/span>– Sant Elm<\/h2><\/div>

We begin at \u201cSant Elm\u201d Beach and head towards \u201cEs Pantaleu\u201d. History tells us that in 1229 King Jaume I landed his fleet on this very spot to embark on the Conquest of Mallorca, which was under Muslim Rule at the time. \u201cEs Pantaleu\u201d is 26 m high, 150 m from the coast. This is a particularly ragged coastline with numerous nips and crannies. At the far side of the beach you can see the tower of \u201cEl Castell\u201d. From here we set out towards \u201cL\u2019Illa Mitjana\u201d and views of \u201cSa Dragonera\u201d, Mallorca\u2019s 6th island. It is 4 km long by 1 km wide, some 700 m from the coast and the full loop is 13 km long. Though its form loosely resembles a dragon, its name actually comes from the numerous lizards that live here.<\/p>\n

On our return, to the east of the beach of \u201cSant Elm\u201d we will discover the coves of \u201cCala Llebeig\u201d and \u201cCala en Rogau\u201d, amongst others, and the small marina of \u201cEs Mollet\u201d. To the west of the island the coastal landscape is much steeper, without any coves or inlets, and with two particularly high peaks ; \u201cPuig des Ancells\u201d (311m) and \u201cPuig des Faro Vell\u201d( 360m). The island has two lighthouses; the \u201cFar de Lleveig\u201d lighthouse in the south and \u201cFar de Tramuntana\u201d in the north.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

5 Cala Vinyes – Portals Vells<\/h2><\/div>

The route begins in the beach of \u201cCala Vinyes\u201d and heads towards the lighthouse of \u201cFaro de Cala Figuera”, leaving behind the small island \u201cIlla de Sa Porrassa\u201d. We follow the coast past sandstone cliffs famously used as stone quarries to build the “Palma Cathedral” and the “Bellver Castle”. From here we continue towards two small coves \u201cCala Falc\u00f3\u201d and \u201cCal\u00f3 de sa Bella Dona\u201d within the protected natural park of Cala Falc\u00f3. Steep cliff edges mark the coastline until we reach \u201cPunta de s\u2019Estaca, past the tiny island \u201cIlla del Sec\u201d and a submerged shipwreck 36m. below the surface. At \u201cPunta de s\u2019Estaca\u201d we will see the tower of \u201cTorre des Moro\u201d and 3 small coves; the idyllic \u201cPortals Vells\u201d with its torrent and pine forest.<\/p>\n

There are primitive sandstone excavations on the beach, which were later used by farmers and fishermen for shelter. The second beach is separated by a promontory to the north, known as \u201cEl Mago\u201d, used in 1967 as the location for a film by the same name. \u201cPortal Vells II\u201d is the third cove and marina, and the end of the route.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\n\u25b8 In the case of adverse meteorological conditions, the route can be altered. If bad weather doesn\u2019t allow us to go out onto the sea, we will propose a hiking route, an excursion or an alternative activity.
